I was born Oct 19, 1990 to a single mother who was battling demons and seeking for love. I believe my mother always loved me and wanted the best for me. However, at times she became distracted or caught up with the “drama” in her own personal, abusive relationships, chemical dependency and raising my brother and sister and attempting to keep her head over the water.

I had to face many obstacles and barriers to in my young life including: poverty, my father’s death, financial barriers, abuse and at sometimes a very unstable environment. At times I really wanted to give up and “throw in the towel.” However, God sent people in my life to help me see the potential that I had inside of me and that there was hope for my future. They made it possible for me to experience an alternative to all of the instability and abuse I had suffered most of my life.

Receiving a college Education will open the door that I will walk thru on my path to fulfill the plan and purpose that God has for my life. It also will set me apart from some other urban youth who are distracted and discouraged from seeking their Destiny because of the distresses and drama that they must endure.
