About PrepChamps

PrepChamps was founded in February 2007 by a few sports fanatics on a mission to help all high school student athletes get recognized for their athletic achievements. The founders of PrepChamps realized that most sport sites focus on the elite high school student athletes. A few other sites focus on the social networking aspects of high school sports. Other recruiting companies say that they will help high school student athletes with the recruiting process; however, they charge between $500 and $3,000 for their services.

PrepChamps believes that it is time for change! Recognizing the challenges that many high school student athletes face during the recruiting process, we aim to create a platform that will leverage the power of the Internet to shift the focus toward “Recruiting 2.0”. The “Recruiting 2.0” premise is based on the Web 2.0 social phenomenon that embraces an approach to generating and distributing Web content itself, characterized by open communication, decentralization of authority, and the freedom to share and re-use “the market as a conversion”. PrepChamps is focused on providing high school student athletes with the tools they need to showcase their skills, enhance their exposure, and ultimately improve their chances of getting recognized and recruited.

We understand that most athletes do not have the skills to compete at the Division I level; however, thousands of athletes do have the ability to play collegiate sports. Our Recruiting 2.0 service helps student athletes by leveraging the social aspects of the Internet with powerful, yet simple, marketing tools - all framed in a context with which the athletes are familiar. The outcome is a new, revolutionary high school sports community that “levels the playing field” for all high school athletes, not just the stars.

Objectives

  1. Create a community where fans, friends, and parents of high school athletes can connect with their hometown heroes.
  2. Enhance high school student athletes’ exposure in order to improve their chances of getting recognized and recruited by collegiate athletic programs.
  3. Save high school coaches time by providing them with the tools to help their players connect with college coaches.
  4. Provide a valuable resource for college recruiters. Even smaller programs with limited budgets will be able to search for athletes that meet their criteria, in seconds. This truly will allow programs to find players that might otherwise have been overlooked.

PrepChamps’ fundamental objective is to become the nation’s top high school recruiting website.
